Jocelyn ‘Josie’ Johnson is a mother of four beautiful daughters and grandmama to the best grandson there ever was (this is a fact and she will not be taking rebuttals). Her journey into becoming a doula started with much prayer and search for purpose. She has always had a gift for hospitality and learned throughout the years that teaching supporting adults was one of her favorite ways to make a living. She began looking into becoming a doula and when her daughter called to share the good news of her pregnancy, the decision was solidified. Her love of learning and passionate curiosity is the fuel behind her fervor.
Josie serves in both a birth and postpartum capacity and is passionate about educating and supporting mothers to take the time to heal. Whether it is the 5-5-5 or sitting the month, Josie wants to help you build a village that works and is sustainable for your situation. She is trained and certified as a high-risk birth doula with trauma-informed and neurodivergent support training as well as a certified postpartum and infant care doula who also offers childbirth education and birth or postpartum planning sessions as stand alone services if desired.
Josie is a student of herbalism and has a deep love for the scriptures. Both of these become apparent in her holistic approach to birthwork. She focuses on evidence and intuition and whenever possible, will make sure that you and your partner share a meal with her, just to build the bond and to help her learn more about your values for your life, birth and postpartum. Feel free to reach out to her even if just to spend some time in prayer together. She’ll never pass up a quick trip to the throne room.
